For food lovers around the world, there are plenty of holidays to share an appreciation for the best invention ever known to humankind; the sandwich. 

However, it can be hard keeping track of all the different sandwich holidays.  Therefore, in order to make it easier, we created the Ultimate Sandwich Holiday List.  

Whether it is a burrito, panini, sloppy joe or hot dog... they all have one thing in common, each one has their own special holiday.  Odds are, if you can name a sandwich, there's probably a holiday for it.  So, without further ado, here is our updated list of Sandwich Holidays Around The World for 2022.

The holiday happens every November 9th.  It appears to be another advertising tool which promotes coupon offers and restaurant specials.  The origins of this holiday are unknown.

Sometimes it is difficult to remember this special Sandwich Holiday, so we have created a table that lists every National Fried Chicken Sandwich Day for the next 25 years!

Almost 8 years ago, on July 26, 2013, Reza Aslan appeared in an interview on Fox News and made meme history by defending his book and himself against an unprepared news host.  From start to finish, anyone who saw the interview walked away impressed by Aslan's ability to counter every attack thrown at him.  

Hotdog Comedy At Its Best

Five days later, on July 31, 2013, a Comedy Channel named "Above Average" created a hilarious parody that imagined what would happen if Aslan were defending his hotdog eating abilities instead of his book on religion.  It is quite an interesting and humorous metaphor.

And now here is the Above Average parody of a comedian pretending to be Aslan defending his ability to competively eat hotdogs.   



The most fascinating thing is that they chose Competitive Hotdog Eating as the main metaphor in this parody.  It shows us how a sandwich can represent something more than just food.  It can also be used as a tool to express an idea and give commentary on everyday life.  

• Sandwich Holidays

The best holiday of the year!  Every November 3rd, we celebrate World Sandwich Day, also known as National Sandwich Day.  Coined after the creator of the Sandwich, John Montagu, 4th Earl of Sandwich, we celebrate National Sandwich Day on his Birthday (11/3/1718).  If there was ever a reason to celebrate a World Holiday, this would be it.
